There is a point at which it is time to stop testing a program and let someone else test. In a shareware application that point comes much earlier than with a commercial product. I think I have reached it with this little application.
I am not as interested in chess as I am in typeface design and programming. This program works for me, but I have only tried some simple things. I would like to know the following:
1. Is this program of any use to anyone? If it is, let me know otherwise I will abandon it. I have plenty of other things I can do with my time.
2. Are there any reproducible bugs in it?
3. Are there unreproducible bugs in it?
4. Do you see ways to make this program more useful? What changes--new features, different design, etc.--would improve it? Does it have the look and feel of a good Mac program? How can I make the instructions less confusing? How much would your suggested changes help you?
5. This program manipulates typefaces which are not letter faces, but picture faces. Are there other places in which a program to manipulate picture faces might be useful?
6. Are there miscellaneous comments you think are worth making that do not fall under the above?
Please give me some feedback. The best way is to send me e-mail at bobs@saintjoe.edu. Another option is to mail me at PO Box 404, Rensselaer, IN 47978.
I hope to incorporate comments and suggestions into version 1 of ChessEdit. Of course if no one contacts me, there may never be a version 1.
